Every week we compare fares to Belize from 29 US and Canadian cities for the Belize Flights page on our website. We have grown accustomed to them being between $500-800, with the exception of special dates, like Christmas. However, over the past several weeks, they have been higher.

I don’t know if it is just because the peak season of March and April are fast approaching, or if they have increased across the board now for all time. It used to be a really good deal to fly to Belize, but it seems less so now. After all, Belize is much further south than Mexico City, and airlines only fly once a day to Belize, so seats are limited. By comparison, Cancun has numerous flights a day from the US, on 14 different airlines. Only 5 airlines service Belize. So the $500 and $600 seats were a real bargain.

It does still matter when you are traveling however, so maybe they will go back down after this peak season is over. I just did a comparison on two different dates, one about 5 weeks away and one 8 weeks away. They are both during the peak season, but presumably the dates that are further away have more space left.
