The weather during Christmas in Belize

December is a great month in Belize, with rainfall dropping off and much cooler temperatures moving in. The first northers appear, and the winds begin to stabilize. The cooler temps, lower humidity, and refreshing breezes make this an excellent time to travel to Belize.

Temperatures in Belize during December generally vary between an average high during the day of 80 degrees and an average low at night of 71 degrees. For more, visit our Belize Weather page.

Special activities for Christmas in Belize

Just as with our tours during the rest of the season, we don’t have a set routine that we follow during Christmas. Most years, our guests and guides come up with something to make our island home festive, including decorating a “tree,” as depicted in the photo above. (Actually, it isn’t a real tree. That year one of our lead guides, Politico, decided to bring a bunch of pine branches out from the mainland for Christmas. He built the tree using those branches and our guests got crafty and made decorations.)¬†Another year, we had a special treat on the morning after Christmas when group of sea turtles hatched. That gave us a rare opportunity to watch, up close and personal, the miracle of new life.
