New flights to Belize from Calgary

Flights to Belize can be somewhat rare, as only a few airlines offer a route to this tiny Central American country. So we were more than pleased receiving word that WestJet just added a new route to Belize from Calgary. This direct flight will fly on Fridays only, which is the day our Adventure Island at Glover’s Reef package begins. So it’s a valuable addition to the options for our guests!

WestJet Airlines officially announced last week that starting November 3, 2017, they will be offering flights between Calgary and Belize every Friday through April 28, 2018. This covers our entire 2017-2018 season.

This new flight will make traveling to Belize so much more convenient as it will eliminate connections and layovers. It will depart Canada from the Calgary International Airport (YYC) at 9:15 am and arrive at the Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport in Belize City at 2:15 pm. It will return to Canada departing Belize about 3:45 pm, arriving back in Calgary around 10:06 pm. The published price is $278.91 CAD one way, which is a very good price, and we are hoping it holds.

Arriving and departing on Friday coincides with our 6 night package: Adventure Island at Glover’s Reef First Half, which runs from Friday afternoon through Thursday morning, all-inclusive, for $1625 US per person. This package includes 1 night in Belize City before the trip, 1 night in Belize City after the trip, and 4 nights on the island. All of our prices are per person because we are selling a package, not just a room in a hotel. Our packages include hotels on the mainland before and after the trip, transport to and from the island, lodging on the island, 3 meals/day, unlimited beer and soda, national park fees and fishing license fees, and complete use of our sports equipment, instruction in all sports, and daily guided activities all day long. The sports we instruct: sea kayaking, snorkeling, windsurfing, kayak surfing, sport fishing, kayak fishing, stand-up paddling, and board surfing. We also instruct scuba diving and kiteboarding for an additional cost.

Because you will be checking out of your package hotel in Belize City on Thursday morning, you still have an extra day in Belize! We recommend Lamanai Mayan ruin, Caye Caulker, the Howler Monkey Preserve, or the Belize Zoo. You can read about each of these on our page Other Things to Do in Belize.

We hope this will encourage Canadians to join us this winter! Give us a call if you have any questions: (800) 390-5715.
